Who it's for & eligibility
- Couples whose marriage has already been solemnised by a ceremony
- Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists — registration under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955
- Couples of other communities — registration under the Delhi (Compulsory Registration of Marriage) Order, 2014
- Bride at least 18 and groom at least 21 on the date of marriage
- Either partner resides in, or the marriage took place in, the jurisdiction where you apply
Documents checklist
- Age proof of both partners (birth certificate, Class 10 certificate or passport)
- Address proof of both partners (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or utility bill)
- Recent passport-size photographs of both partners
- Identity and address proof of witnesses
- Wedding invitation card and/or photographs of the ceremony
- Certificate from the temple, gurdwara or place of marriage (if available)
- Affidavits from both partners as per the prescribed format (we draft these)
- Divorce decree or death certificate of former spouse, if applicable
